Project
STPCx conducted a conditions analysis to the HVAC System on the 1st Floor of the Johnson Pavilion at the University of Pennsylvania. Due to the overheating and loss of supply air flow during the hot months, STPCx analyzed the supply and exhaust air systems for the first and second floors. The project steps included:
- Collecting existing documents from archives
- Reviewing documents
- Evaluation of field conditions of equipment
- Retrieval and study of data logged by the ATC (OCC’s Comdale SCADA) during the hot days. The following points were included: AHUs supply and exhaust pressures, CFM, temperature, exhaust and supply air relative humidity, space temperature / humidity conditions, and variable frequency drive speed command and feedback
- Procedure proposals to troubleshoot problems
- Analyzing data and determined the causes of the problem
- Recommending corrective action
